The Best Dominican Republic Beaches

There are so many Dominican Republic beaches, it's not easy to pick a favorite. I can say that my favorite beach is Bavaro Beach Punta Cana.

But I love Cabarete Beach as well!

So let's start on the East Coast. You fly into Punta Cana International Airport. You are anywhere between 10 to 40 minutes away from your hotel.

It all depends on which one of the beautiful all-inclusive resorts you chose!

Punta Cana is made up of several different areas. Macao, Bavaro Beach and Cabeza de Toro, to name a few.

If you are the sporty type, you should definitely go to Cabarete! Cabarete Beach is on the North Coast of Dominican Republic. This is one of the Top 10 beaches in the world for Kite boarding or Kite surfing and windsurfing!

Puerto Plata airport is only 20 minutes away from Cabarete. From the airport you can go East to Playa Dorada, Sosua or Cabarete Beach. If you go West of Puerto Plata you'll find Cofresi and Luperon.

La Romana is on the South side of the island. There are several attractions in this area. Altos de Chavon, Bayahibe and Saona Island among others.

Between Puerto Plata on the North Coast and Punta Cana on the East Coast there's a peninsula called Samana. This area is well known for whale watching.
